WAR / WAREHOUSE OF ARCHITECTURE AND RESEARCH
WAR, Warehouse of Architecture and Research, was founded in Rome in 2013. It sits somewhere between a mannerist architecture studio and an independent space devoted to research on contemporary practice. WAR’s team has lectured at Sapienza Università di Roma and Università Roma Tre, Politecnico di Milano and Triennale Milano, as well as at Pratt, Syracuse and Tulane universities in the United States. Its work has been exhibited in Rome, Venice, Milan and New York, at RIBA and Betts in London, and at the Shenzhen–Hong Kong Biennale. The studio has been recognized among Italy’s emerging architecture practices by Platform in 2020 and Area in 2022. Its work has also appeared in international publications including Arquitectura Viva, Domus, DEAT, Igloo, Summa+, and The Architect’s Newspaper.

Since 2020, WAR has worked between Rome and Pesaro, under the shared direction of Jacopo Costanzo and Gabriele Corbo. They currently teach at the University of Genoa and IED, and serve as advisors to the Centro Studi Giorgio Muratore and the American Academy in Rome. Since 2019 they have been publishing Panteon Magazine. Over the last few years the studio has been part of Laboratorio Roma050 — a strategic urban vision initiative for the city of Rome.
